The Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance (TDCI) Insurance Activities Monthly Update, current as of Sept. 30, 2026, adds four new asterisked rows to its Admissions / Recognitions table. Two carry the license type PROPERTY: WCF Insurance Company, dated 9/8/2026, and Seven Seas Insurance Company, Inc., dated 9/24/2026. TDCI uses the asterisk to mark a new record since the last update.
The four September rows
| Company | NAIC # | License type | Domicile | Date |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WCF Insurance Company | 10033 | PROPERTY | UT | 9/8/2026* |
| MARQUETTE INDEMNITY & LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY | 87394 | ACCREDITED REINSURER | AZ | 9/15/2026* |
| NuSureCo Specialty Insurance Company, Inc. | 17950 | SURPLUS LINES | TX | 9/22/2026* |
| Seven Seas Insurance Company, Inc. | 37672 | PROPERTY | FL | 9/24/2026* |
The license type and domicile columns come straight from TDCI’s table. Domicile is the home state where a company is based.
What an admission listing does and does not tell you
A row on the Admissions / Recognitions table tells you TDCI recorded the company on that date with that license type. It does not tell you which products the company sells in Tennessee, which counties it writes in, what it charges, or which agencies can place business with it. Those answers come from the company, its rate and form filings, and the agent you work with.
For East Tennessee homeowners, new property admissions are worth knowing about for one reason: they can add to the list of companies an agency may be able to quote over time. They are not a promise that any one company will offer a policy on a particular house.
How to check a company before you buy
- Match the name and NAIC number. The company name on a quote or policy should match the legal name on TDCI’s list, and the NAIC number helps tell similarly named companies apart.
- Read the license type. TDCI lists PROPERTY, SURPLUS LINES, ACCREDITED REINSURER, and other types separately. A reinsurer listing, for example, is not a company selling homeowners policies to the public.
- Keep TDCI’s numbers handy. TDCI lists 615-741-2218 or 1-800-342-4029 for questions about an insurance policy.
