What the three rate numbers mean for one policy

The overall figure is an average across the policies in the filing. The maximum and minimum show the edges of the range. Here that range runs from a 3.6% increase to a 20.7% decrease, which means two Homesite policyholders on the same street could see different changes at renewal.

A filed rate change is also only one piece of a renewal. Coverage limits, deductibles, the age and condition of the home, and claims history can all move the final premium. If you want a refresher on reading the table itself, see How to read Tennessee’s monthly homeowners rate table on TDCI’s website.

Homesite had an earlier Tennessee homeowners filing on the same table this year: Homesite’s 0.000% Tennessee homeowners filing still covers 29,803 policies with a flat printed band.
